A prior consultation is required to assess your skin, discuss your concerns and determine whether a treatment is appropriate for you.

REJURAN
Rejuran is a polynucleotide (PN)-based injectable treatment offered at Nurse Michelle Aesthetics as a clinically assessed option for skin health. Suitability is determined at consultation based on individual presentation and health history.
-
Rejuran contains polynucleotides derived from salmon DNA. When administered as an injectable, it is intended to work in conjunction with the skin's own processes. It is not a dermal filler and does not add volume to the face. It may be considered for clients with concerns around skin texture, hydration or overall skin quality, subject to individual assessment at consultation.
-
Rejuran is administered via a series of small injections into the skin. A topical anaesthetic is typically applied prior to treatment to support comfort. Treatment time varies depending on the area and number of injection points. Redness, swelling and small injection site marks are common following the procedure and generally resolve within a few days. Full aftercare instructions will be provided at your appointment.
-
Rejuran may not be suitable for clients who:
Are pregnant or breastfeeding
Have a known allergy to fish or salmon-derived products
Have active skin infections or inflammation in the treatment area
Have certain autoimmune or bleeding conditions
Are taking blood-thinning medications
This list is not exhaustive. Contraindications are assessed in full at consultation.
-
Risks and side effects may include redness, swelling, bruising, tenderness or small bumps at injection sites following treatment. Less common risks will be discussed in full at your consultation. Individual responses vary.
-
The number of sessions appropriate for you will be discussed at consultation. Some clients may benefit from an initial series of appointments followed by maintenance sessions, though this is highly individual and cannot be predetermined.
SKINPEN MICRONEEDLING
SkinPen Microneedling is offered at Nurse Michelle Aesthetics as a clinically assessed option for skin health. Suitability is determined at consultation based on individual presentation, skin type and health history.
-
SkinPen is a medical-grade microneedling device that creates controlled micro-channels in the skin's surface. At Nurse Michelle Aesthetics, microneedling may be performed with the topical application of an exosome-containing serum, applied to the skin during or after the procedure. Exosome serums used in conjunction with this treatment are applied topically, not injected. Individual suitability for each component of this treatment is assessed at consultation prior to proceeding.
-
A topical anaesthetic is applied prior to treatment to support comfort. The SkinPen device is passed over the treatment area, creating controlled micro-channels in the skin's surface. Where an exosome serum is incorporated, it is applied topically during or after the needling process. Redness, sensitivity and mild swelling following treatment are common and generally resolve within a few days. Full pre- and post-treatment care instructions will be provided at your appointment.
-
This treatment may not be suitable for clients who:
Are pregnant or breastfeeding
Have active skin infections, cold sores or open wounds in the treatment area
Have certain skin conditions including eczema, psoriasis or active rosacea in the treatment area
Are taking blood-thinning medications or have recently used isotretinoin
Have a history of keloid scarring
This list is not exhaustive. Contraindications are assessed in full at consultation.
-
Risks and side effects may include redness, swelling, bruising, dryness, peeling, sensitivity or temporary changes in skin texture following treatment. Less common risks will be discussed in full at your consultation. Individual responses vary.
-
The number of sessions considered appropriate for your individual concerns will be discussed at consultation. Some clients undertake a series of treatments spaced several weeks apart, though this is highly individual and cannot be predetermined without assessment.
CHEMICAL PEELS
Chemical peels are offered at Nurse Michelle Aesthetics as a clinically assessed option for skin health. Suitability is determined at consultation based on individual presentation, skin type and health history.
-
A chemical peel involves the application of a clinical-grade solution to the skin's surface. Different peel formulations address different skin concerns and penetrate to different depths. The type and strength of peel considered appropriate for you will be determined at consultation based on your skin type, concerns and history. Superficial peels generally carry a shorter recovery period; medium-depth peels carry greater risk and a more involved recovery.
-
The peel solution is applied to clean skin and left for a specified period before removal or neutralisation. During application, some clients experience tingling, warmth or a mild stinging sensation, which varies depending on the formulation used. Redness and peeling in the days following treatment is an expected part of the skin's normal response. Specific pre- and post-treatment instructions will be provided, including strict sun avoidance during recovery, which is essential.
-
Chemical peels may not be suitable for clients who:
Are pregnant or breastfeeding
Have active cold sores, skin infections or open wounds in the treatment area
Have recently used isotretinoin or undergone certain cosmetic procedures
Have a history of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation or very sensitive skin
Are unable to follow post-treatment sun avoidance requirements
This list is not exhaustive. Individual suitability is assessed thoroughly at consultation.
-
Risks and side effects may include redness, peeling, dryness, sensitivity and temporary changes in skin tone. Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation is a possible but less common outcome, particularly in clients with darker skin tones. Risks relevant to the specific peel recommended for you will be discussed in full at consultation. Individual responses vary.
-
The frequency and number of sessions appropriate for your skin concerns will be discussed at consultation. Some concerns may be addressed with a single treatment; others may benefit from a series of appointments spaced several weeks apart. This is assessed individually.
Important Information
The information on this page is general in nature and does not constitute medical advice. All treatments are subject to individual clinical assessment at consultation, and outcomes cannot be guaranteed.
Why Clinical Setting Matters
Skin treatments vary significantly in complexity, depth and individual risk. At Nurse Michelle Aesthetics, all skin treatments are assessed and delivered within a clinical environment at Shades Dermatology, a doctor-led dermatology clinic in Brisbane. This means your treatment takes place with appropriate medical oversight and within a structure designed to support client safety and informed decision-making.
Nurse Michelle does not offer skin treatments as add-ons or impulse bookings. Every treatment follows a thorough clinical consultation, and a treatment is only recommended if it is considered appropriate for your individual presentation, skin type and health history.
